Terms

Short and readable, because terms nobody reads protect nobody. If something here seems unfair, email me and say so.

Using this site means accepting these terms. They're governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you're a consumer, this doesn't remove any rights you have under the law of the country you live in.

The free tool

The invoice generator is free to use, with no account and no sign-up. You can use invoices you create with it commercially, without restriction or attribution.

It's provided as is. I've built it carefully and tested it, but I can't promise it'll always be available, or that it will suit your particular tax or legal circumstances.

Invoicer Pro — £9, one payment

Pro is a one-time purchase of £9. Not a subscription. Nothing recurring, nothing to cancel. It unlocks:

Payment is taken by Stripe. I never see or store your card details. Pro activates immediately after payment.

How Pro is stored — read this before buying

Pro is remembered by your browser, not by an account. That means it applies to the browser and device you bought it on. If you clear your browser data, use private/incognito mode, or switch to a different device or browser, you'll need to re-apply it. Email me and I'll send you the unlock link — free, no questions, for as long as the product exists.

I've deliberately built it this way so there's no account to create, no password to remember and no personal data for me to hold. The trade-off is the portability limitation above. If that doesn't suit you, don't buy it.

Refunds

14 days, no quibble. If you buy Pro and it isn't what you wanted, email hi@jaycosten.co.uk within 14 days of purchase and I'll refund you in full. You don't need to give a reason, and you don't need to justify it.

Refunds go back to your original payment method, normally within five working days of me processing it.

This sits alongside, and does not replace, your statutory rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If the product is faulty or not as described, you're entitled to a repair, replacement or refund under those Acts regardless of the 14-day window.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links to third-party tools are affiliate links, meaning I may earn a commission if you sign up through them. They're labelled on the page. It costs you nothing extra, it doesn't change what I recommend, and I'd rather disclose it plainly than bury it.

The guides are information, not advice

The articles on this site are general information about UK invoicing, written carefully and in good faith. They are not accountancy, tax or legal advice, and I'm not an accountant or a solicitor.

Tax rules — VAT thresholds especially — change. Always confirm anything that affects your money with HMRC or a qualified accountant before acting on it. I'm not liable for decisions taken solely on the basis of what you read here.

Your invoices are your responsibility

You're responsible for the accuracy of what goes on the invoices you create: the figures, the tax treatment, the client details, and whether the invoice meets any requirements that apply to your business. The tool does arithmetic; it doesn't check your VAT position or your legal obligations.

Limits of liability

To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of this site — for example lost profit, lost business, or a payment a client didn't make. For any direct loss, my total liability is limited to the amount you paid me, which for the vast majority of users is nothing and for Pro users is £9.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't lawfully be excluded.

Availability and changes

I may change, suspend or withdraw the site at any time. If I withdraw Pro entirely and you bought it within the previous 12 months, email me and I'll refund you.

These terms may change. The "last updated" date at the top will tell you when. Changes don't apply retrospectively to a purchase you've already made.

Complaints

Email hi@jaycosten.co.uk. I'll acknowledge within 5 working days and give you a substantive reply within 14. If you'd rather phone, the number's 07709 796761.
